As an employee in a hospital and a member of 1199, i find it disgusting what Governor Patterson is doing in regards to healthcare cuts. 1199 was at my hospital the other day and told us that even though we are in the union, it looks like we are not safe anymore. Mary Immaculate Hospital and St Johns in Queens are already in the process of closing. these cuts are going to be horrible to patients and the community. I always thought that my job was "safe", i work in healthcare, how could they make such cuts? well not anymore.
