Heard the heartbeat today!

Heard the heartbeat today!
Had my 13 week appointment this morning and got to hear the heartbeat for the first time! baby sounds strong and doctor was happy with the heart rate being 134 bpm.
Didnt get to have a sono at this appointment, but I'll have one in a month.
I'm not showing yet and have gained 3 pounds so far - hearing the heartbeat made it seem a lot more real!

Great! Usually...but not always...under 140 is "wives taled" as a boy! Are you finding out?

Funny you mention that - as soon as the doctor told me the heartbeat I asked about the sex of the baby and he told me the same thing - though of course he also said that he doesnt put much stock in that.
I also mentioned to him that the chinese birth chart said I'm having a girl - he just rolled his eyes - but we have a nice, joking relationship.
We're not finding out the sex - but I'll let everyone know in about 6 months if the heartbeat wives tale was right!
