Heart beat at 6 Weeks
I have my first dr's appointment next week and I will be just 6 weeks and I was wondering if you would be able to hear the heartbeat. My dr is taking me in early since I had a miscarriage in Nov.....I am so excited to hear it and I pray everyday that I will make it until then...

exactly.
I was able to see mine at 6 weeks. Two days earlier we were not able to see it, so dont get upset if you cant see it then either. its about a 60% chance at 6 weeks.
Hearing it , no...was too soon.

Now I am wondering if it is worth my Dh to take a half of day for this appointment or if he should save his time for the next one. We have been taking a lot of half days with my sister being so sick and I would hate for him to waste a day when we can use it for more important appointments....I dont know what to do....hughhh....but of course I would love to have him there.

My friend was just able to HEAR it at 6 weeks so you may wantto have him come if he wants to. You never know what he might miss...

With my first, the doctor didn't see a heartbeat at 6 weeks but saw it the following week.

Thursday is the 1st u/s.

i dont think you will be able to hear it, but if you have a sono you should be able to see it/hear it on that machine. just not with the little doppler.

We went at 6wks 5 days and nothing but a sak! So don't be upset if you don't see or hear anything! Just may be to early! Good Luck though!
