Re: Heart Rate Monitor Watch
Kim - Polar is a pretty popular brand and syncs up with ellipticals and treadmills in the gym! My aunt has two and she lent me one set for a year, I liked it but didnt love it. Found it a tad annoying actually so didnt wear it much. Also it would take like more than 5 minutes to get my heart rate reading which irritated me!
One day I would like to invest in a GPS watch though to track my mileage and pace. Also most of them come with heart rate monitors

Re: Heart Rate Monitor Watch
I have the Reebok Precision Trainer XT Heart Rate Monitor and I love it! I had received the garmin HRM as a gift last Christmas and had so many problems with it I actually had to return it. It wouldn't upload the data half the time and the foot pod that tracks mileage was off. I got the Reebok HRM early this year and have not had one problem. Tracks my HR and the calories burned like a champ and it was 1/4 the price. Also earlier this summer on vacation after working out I went for a swim without realizing the chest strap was on and after drying out it worked fine the next day.
