Re: Heart shaped Uterus???
I *think* this is what I have. My doctor called it a "split" uterus, but when I mentioned "heart shaped" he said that was it.
Anyway, the only indication mine had was that later in pregnancy I had a higher risk of preterm labor and c-section (due to the baby not being able to turn). I had to stop working early (at 34 weeks) to try to prevent the pre-term labor. Thankfully, none of the above came true for me, as I sit here at 39w3d with the baby in position and no signs of going into labor.
Good luck!

Re: Heart shaped Uterus???
Hi - Yes, I was told there was a possibility that I have a heart shaped uterus as well. Thing is, they can't know 100% while you're pg. So, they're just going to take precautions. They might do a cerclauge which is stiching up your cervix so the baby doesn't come out, b/c the heart shaped uterus might force your body to deliver the baby early i.e. 28 wks. They did measure my cervix every week and at 20 weeks, it was very long so we didn't end up needing that.
My baby was breech the entire pregnancy and I was told that it's *most* likely due to the uterus and it would be proven true either at the c/s or after delivery. Well, shocker, at 35 wks, my baby turned and is head down. GO FIGURE.
This is apparently quite normal these days and won't cause your baby any harm. Only thing is, if you do, depending on how far the indent is, you might deliver early. How early??? I'm 37wks and 1cm dialated which means nothing.
FM me if you have any questions or want to talk. Try not to worry though.

Re: Heart shaped Uterus???
I have one too...they saw it on my sono a few weeks ago. I was told that there is a higher risk of pre-term labor and c-sections due to the baby being breach. I think they just monitor you more closely, esp. towards the end.
