Heat in Basements
We have a full finished basement that we don't use right now. It's basically storage until we have the money to redo it and the laundry is down there.
What should we keep the heat set at?
I don't want the pipes to freeze, however I don't want to be paying $$$ to heat something that isn't used for more than 5 minutes to switch the wash.

i agree w/ 55, unless its really cold outside (below freezing) and then i would turn it up to 58-60
we arent living in our house yet and we keep it at 60.
