Heat Rash

What does a heat rash look like?
Jared has little red bumps all over his arms, shoulders and back. We have the air conditioning on in the house, so it's not hot...but he does sleep in a fleece blanket.Chat Icon

It doesn't seem to bother him and he's not acting out of the ordinary...just curious..

Thanks...Chat Icon

Re: Heat Rash

Marissa had heat raash not too long ago we were out in my cousins backyard and it was little red bumps and marks on her neck and arms and stomach. I got a little freaked out and was told to strech the skin i f it doesn't stay red tehn it should be fine but if it stays red then call the doctor. I would try and put a lighter blanket on the baby if you think he might get cold then put 2 but I wouldn't use the fleece blanket and see how that works.

Re: Heat Rash

John has it too, Dr told me to use aveno baby bath and aveno baby lotion, keep his neck dry with powder and do not over dress him. He said there is no reason to put a onesie on him while he is in PJ's, its getting a lot better

Re: Heat Rash

I think Bryan has this- it just came out yesterday- Im trying to wipe him down when I get a chance- he aways feels warm to me- he gets sweaty really easily I think that has to do with it.

Re: Heat Rash

Nate had a slight case of heat rash.... Whenever he felt too warm, we'd give him a bath to help cool him off. Doing this seems to have reduced the bumps.

Re: Heat Rash

Anthony used to get it on his back. He is 2 1/2 now and still does if hes running around outside in the heat. It goes away by itself .. usually after a day or 2.
