Re: Heel Spur

I have a heal spur but I get my pain in the arch of my foot. Where I can't walk flat, I have to walk on the outside of my foot when it acts up.

I guess I'm not much help.

You can see a podiatrist and he'll take X-Rays. They'll know then & there if you have one & give you shoe inserts.

I got a %@#% heel spur the sat before my wedding. (I was driving around A LOT with last minute errands, and got a heel spur on my right foot from pressing on the gas pedal too much Chat Icon ) the darned thing stuck around throughout the honeymoon, throughout the summer, and finally healed (pardon the pun Chat Icon) in the early fall.

yeah, I had no idea what one was either until I got one. the symptoms are pretty obvious, in hind sight.... If you get up in the morning and your foot is stiff and heel is very tender, but you can walk it off to the point that the pain is almost gone, it's a heel spur.

you have to gently stretch your foot, and avoid what ever behavior caused it. usually it's becuase you're wearing shoes with really poor cushioning, and moving aroung a lot (like barefoot aerobics...) I think I got it from walking and driving a lot while wearing cheap flipflops.

what ever you do, don't let it drag on forever. Go to a Dr. If it drags on, there's a chance you could require surgery to correct any permanent callous that develops....
mine finally went away becuase I stopped driving long distances (DH drives me now).
hope this helps!
