I know we have some members that work in Midtown. Hope everyone is ok!
ETS: They are reproting the damage is contained to the roof. Thankfully nobody was hurt on the street. Only the pilot was injured. Still waiting to hear what caused the crash.

They confirmed it was the pilot.
They are saying he knew he was in trouble and was in contact with LaGuardia and lost contact with them. He crashed landed there on purpose. He probably saved a lot of lives

Sad that the pilot died, and God bless him for trying not to kill others.
Brings back memories of when Cory Lidle flew his plane into an apartment building next to the East River. Too much air traffic over the city, and now with buildings being built higher and higher, it is just freaking scary. I keep watching the building across from me going up, it is supposed to be one of the tallest buildings in the city once it is finished.

Re: Helicopter crashed into a building Midtown
This scares me.
I live in Northeast Queens, where the amount of helicopters and private planes that fly out to the Hamptons in the summer is out of control. I once counted 37 helicopters flying over in a time span of 29 minutes. It is beyond acceptable and annoying.
They fly so low that your walls to your home start to vibrate and you can often see the license number on the bottom of their aircraft. The neighborhood has been fighting for years with the FAA to get them to fly over water, but the majority of these pilots fly over land on purpose because they know how much we complain and report them. It is just a matter of time before one of them lands on top of a home.

YES ! Scares the living daylights out of me when they fly over the Clearview and the Cross Island. I can see the planes on approach to LGA and then to see the lights of a helicopter close by ......
