on the Kings Park High School grounds!!!!!

ok thank GOD for cell phones.
I just talked to my little brother - he saw the whole things from the classroom window.
there were no kids on the field, no students/staff were hurt
BUT Lt. Collins (?) from the Coast Guard was being flown in to give an assembly presentation....not sure if he was on it?
Joey said he saw them QUICKLY remove something from the helicopter before they evacuated the students from that wing. (they are afraid of a gas explosion)

thank God noone was seriously hurt!!!
the 2 passengers on board were taken to the hospital with minor injuries!!!

Definitely thank god for cell phones - it took you 4 minutes from the time this was posted to find out he was ok.

he said the helicopter crashed into the fence....
but now they're not sure that the guy on the chopper was the guy that was supposed to be giving the assembly....
Mom just got a call from the HS administration - they're calling students' parents just to let them know what happened, and that everything is OK
they said they'll identify the passengers at a later time
(they're not majorly injured - they were transproted to St Cath's)

Breaking News
Suffolk police say a training helicopter has made a hard landing at Kings Park High School. There are reports of two minor injuries. The west side part of the school was evacuated as a result of the landing. Stay tuned to News 12 Long Island and News12.com for more on this developing story.

He's a good kid though - he was in the process calling us all (mom, dad, me, sister) to let us know that everythings OK

Its on channel 7 news now - as a KPer, i feel famous! you can see my house from the aerial shots. According to people that were right across the street at the post office, they heard the engine just CUT as it passed overhead...the chopper flopped around a bit, and people were panicky that it was going to land in the middle of 25A...the pilot was able to guide it to an open fied.
I live LITERALLY 1 block east of the HS.... the news copters are still circling the area.
It has been confirmed that this was NOT a military copter - it was a private company conducting a training mission.
