Helium shortage? where is get balloons i n Mineola area for Sunday?
Went last night to order some balloons for my girls' party on Sunday only to find signs at party city saying there is a nationwide helium shortage so there are no balloons this weekend.  Called another party city and was told the same. Although they have helium tanks for sale for $30. I hate to buy a tank for like 8-10 balloons.
Does anyone know a place I could get a butterfly baloon and like 8 purple balloons in the Mineola area because I have several things to pick up before the party I don't want to go far.

For DD's b-day, we go to the dollar type stores to get baloons filled up. We have even brought baloons we have bought in other places there just to be filled.

there's a dollar store by on jericho by northshore farms that has balloons. Also Cedarhurst paper on Willis ave

BJ's sells the tanks for less....close to $20 i believe

Did you try party city in carle place. It's in the same section as Bass & Staples.

That is the one we were at which is like 2 mins from me. I also called 2 other stores which said the same thing.
I didn't want to buy the tank because I didn't want to spend like $20-30 when I only wanted like 8 balloons (which would have run less than 10). I also am running around trying to pick up the cupcakes and other things so I don't want to blow them up myself.
Thank you everyone! I ended up getting centerpieces instead - but the manager told me to come back at 5 today and if he has enough helium left he will be happy to sell me the balloons for pick up tomorrow. It is just that I am already over budget with the favors and the cupcakes etc so I don't want to go overboard just for a couple of balloons.
