Help -- repost from NFR -- question about e coli
I'm asking because I made a dinner on Monday night with fresh spinach. Monday night, at around 10pm, the baby woke up throwing up --- it was bad and lasted till about 3am.
She is also on prednisone so we thought it was that, even though the doctor said vomiting from prednisone is rare. She hasn't thrown up again, but has had diarhea so bad today. The doctor suggested it could be a stomach virus.
Then last night my DH became ill. He was sick all night into the morning at at around 9:30 this AM my FIL took him to the hospital because he was in so much pain from vomiting all night. I keep calling the hospital since I can't go there because of the baby, and because I'm sick now too, and they just keep telling me that they are doing tests. I don't know what is going on with DH. FIL has a bad headcold and is running a fever so he went home and is resting at home.
To make matters worse at around 11am I started getting sick, and I've been in the bathroom throwing up ALL day. I'm at the point where I feel weak, have body aches, and am getting the chills.
I am just scared now. I just called the pediatrician's emergency number and am waiting for him to call me back. I wish I knew what the test results were for my DH...I didn't even think of E.Coli until a few minutes ago.

Doubt its e coli! I was sick like you described all weekend. There is a stomach virus going around. Throwing up, diarrhea, etc. I was having chills, sweats, etc., but never got an actual fever. I felt better within 2 days. I am sure its just this, I hope Feel better!

Not to be gross, but If it was e coli, you would be passing blood in your stools.
Feel better soon
