Re: Help!!
What kind of job/company is it for, that might help us spin off some good questions!

Re: Help!!
Oh, sorry!
Its an admin job for a civil engineering firm. The HR person called me and told me A LOT about the job already, including hours, benefits, vacation time, etc.

Re: Help!!
You could maybe ask:
What the review process entails What the pay schedule is (weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc) What the dress code is How the company is holding up in the economy How long their employees have been there What kind of culture they promote Are there any other policies you should be aware of?
I'm sure there are lots more. Good luck!!!

Re: Help!!
OK cool... since you already know a lot about the job & benefits, I'd focus on "the business" - who are their largest clients, what area are your boss(es) focused on (engineering? Business development? government relations?? etc). Do the execs you support travel (domestic/international) and if so what percentage of their time is on the road? (I've supported real globe hoppers and it can be a challenge to communicate with some of them in the far flung locations they visit!) Some people recommend asking why the last person left; I'm not a huge fan of that one (it sometimes puts the HR rep in a tight spot if your predecessor was a loon ) I always ask about in house training opportunities, upcoming software rollouts, etc. - in other words upcoming events that may need your attention in the next few months. Trying to think of more....

Re: Help!!
Don't be nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just go with the conversational flow, if something intriguing comes up don't be afraid to follow through with a direct question.
BEST OF LUCK, I'm sure it will go great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Help!!
OOOO good luck babe!!! At my last job people made strange remarks about my predecessor all the time, I never met her but she sounded wacky. Then on my computer she left a bunch of angry letters she'd written to everyone from Mayor Giuliani to her next door neighbor. Oh, and a copy of her will in which she leaves her apartment to her 2 cats.
