Re: HELP! Baby Shower Invite Wording
We just put the registry cards into the invite. You can go to the store & get them there.
Also I remember getting an invite that said, "For registry information please visit: www.webaddresshere.com" And then the registry number.

hmmmm, you could write...
your presence is gift enough, and no others are necessary, but if you must bring a gift, x and y have selected some items from........

Re: HELP! Baby Shower Invite Wording
I would put no reference to gifts and provide registry info upon request.
Saying no gifts required but go to store xyz is basically saying buy gift (imo). It's not a bad thing for a shower but it would be simpler to not mention gifts at all.

But that doesn't tell you that gifts aren't required.....

Doesn't matter. It's an electronic invite that is going out to the office. hence why I need this wording

Re: HELP! Baby Shower Invite Wording
maybe i'm in the wrong but who would show up at a shower without a gift (i'm not talking huge, even something small is nice). i personally wouldn't say anything about not bringing a gift.

agreed
ETA: I think it is one or the other- send the invite with the registry cards, or just send the invite- and then those who can/want to bring a gift, will anyway

Nancy, I would just send the invite. don't include registry info..
just write something like
Yay you're invited to
Sally's Baby shower when where what time:
Can't wait to see you all at the celebration.
for RSVP or more info, please call/email..
those that can/want to bring a gift, will call/ask. anyone else has the "out" that no gift info was on the invite.

I like this too, it puts the info out there that the couple is registered, but doesnt make is awkward.

Re: HELP! Baby Shower Invite Wording
IMO registry info never belongs on an invitation. If you are going to attach something with registry info, it should be a card in the envelope, not on the invitation itself.
I don't think you can say- no gifts required and then give regsitry info. Its either one or the other. You either include registry info or say something like "your presence is a gift enough" or "no gift please".

Re: HELP! Baby Shower Invite Wording
I have worked at non-profits before. I would say, "we will take a small collection in advance, to buy a gift from Ms. Joe Schmo's registry." Then people know she is registered and that they do not have to buy an additional gift. If they want to buy from the registry, they will ask. The suggested amount to collect can be low.
But that doesn't tell you that gifts aren't required.....
