Help! Block party tomorrow!
I have been sick all week and our block party is tomorrow and I haven't done a thing! I'm not a Costco shopper and usually make everything on my own, but it's not happening this year.
What is really good that you can recommend (appetizers or anything else) that I can get from Costco. Do they even have shish-kabobs or marinated meat there? I'm borrowing my sister-in-law's card and going tonight.

Great veggie plattters, bruschetta, yogurt sauce for dip, guacamole, shrimp cocktail, wrap platters and frozen app stuff. I'm sure you'll find a ton of stuff. My FAVE thing for dessert there is the container of frozen cream puffs. Just thaw about an hour before serving, sprinkle w/ powdered sugar and you have an awsoem dessert. It's always a big hit when i serve them.

Those are awesome! If you feel like using a stove, the box of frozen hor d'ouves (sp?) is great!

Re: Help! Block party tomorrow!
We do a big BBQ every year and get the veggie platter, the shrimp platter and the bruschetta mix which we serve with the "Artisan" garlic bread which is found by the bakery. It is so yummy! I have also had the Croissant platter and the wrap platter - both of those are pretty good too. They also have a cold cut platter.
You can do a platter of fresh mozzarella and tomato, but that would require a little bit of work. I am not sure if they sell pita, but I think that they have some kind of hummus spread that you could put out.

I went to a block party last week and they were bbqing chicken sausage with apple (I think it was apple) that they got at Costco. They put it on a roll with cooked onions and sauerkraut. It was delicious!

Re: Help! Block party tomorrow!
Im bumping a few block party posts. hope you guys dont mind.
incase anyone has more feedback, and im sure many others will be throwing block parties this year.
Since this one is food talk, do most block parties do "everyone eats at their own house" and meet up for dessert as a block.
or do you share food/eat together ?
