Help! Bump on head?
Noah just fell and bumped his head, it didnt seem loud , I didnt see it happen...but he cried a bit more then normal and then a small ( I think) goose egg appeared on his scalp within seconds...and with a small cut.
I dont want to over react but I know I am. Cause I hate seeing him hurt.
This is not serious right?
He is acting ok.
eta- I dont know what he hit it on, I dont think it was the floor, it was either his scooter o the table chair.

Re: Help! Bump on head?
He's probably ok - why don't you ice it, and call your ped to let him know - he can maybe give you some signs to watch out for in case its something worse. Cailen is always bonking his head hard and so far he's been ok!

Quite honestly I dont want to call the Ped and worry myself worse. I know what to look for in terms of head injury signs and so far so good, but I have never had him get a goose egg.

Re: Help! Bump on head?
As long as you know the signs for a head injury I wouldn't worry too much. Try to ice the bump as much as you can. The more he will let you ice it the less it will stick out. Hope he feels better

Hope he feels better he seems 100% fine so Im sure he is ok, but he is REFUSING to let us ice it and like your saying, it is just getting bigger and bigger but I know thats from lack of ice and pressure, so Im calmer now. Thanks

Re: Help! Bump on head?
this just happened to jonah a few days ago. we have two low steps in front of our house, and he was kneeling on the bottom one... next thing you know he is face down on the concrete
he got a goose egg immediately on his forehead with a small cut, but only cried for a few seconds and seemed totally fine afterwards.
i didn't call the ped but i was a wreck and checked on him every 2-3 hours througout the night just to make sure his color and breathing were ok (this happened right before bedtime). i think it was overkill... he was FINE.
i think if he's acting okay, check on him once or twice during the night, but overall i wouldn't sweat it

i ussually give her an ice pop to eat, but first she has to hold it wrapped on her bump for a little bit.

Re: Help! Bump on head?
That happened to DS once...he was jumping on the couch and fell back and smacked the back of his head on a wood cocktail table (of course DH was the one letting him jump on the couch ). DS wouldnt let me ice it either...as long as he isnt showing any signs of a head injury he will be ok. DS's goose egg went away the next day, I was surprised.

LOL....I feel bad for him. he is VERY agile....Can work a scooter and all these older boy things, can climb like spiderman but OMG is he clumsy and un attentive! I really hope he grows out of this cause I will not make it through his school days if he gets hurt like this!
