help.. can i get pregnant?
ok so here's the story. about 3 years ago I went to the dr with severe pains and found out that i have small cysts on my ovaries.. i lost my insurance just at that time so i never got to see another doctor. i've sort've learned to live with the pain these years but this period's WAY heavier than normal. (sorry to get gross) but i've been soaking through Super Plus tampons every hour. and i broke out on my face (that doesnt normally happen) and my boobs are super swollen (which i've NEVER experienced that before) so my question is, even with cysts and with this severely heavy bleeding, do you think i'll be able to get pregnant?

You may be able to get pregnant, but I am no doctor. You really should see your GYN ASAP just to monitor this months cycles since there has been many different changes for you. If you still don't have insurance, you can go to planned parenthood for an exam or any city hospital. You have to be very careful with cysts b/c if they rupture, you could require surgery.
Best of luck!

Re: help.. can i get pregnant?
Have you been TTC at all if so how long? I read your thread and I have alot of the symptoms you have. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and I had to have surgery to remove the cysts that I had. I was told to try on my own and I have for about 10 months and nothing. I'm going straight to IVF because a cyst came back which is very large. It hasn't given me problems yet but I'm not giving it a chance to. It was either continue trying and know that I may have to have surgery to remove the cyst(s) again or go straight to IVF. Definetely check yourself out.

If you're going through 1 super plus tampon per hour, you need to go buy some tick pads and if you are STILL going through one every hour, call your doctor.

Re: help.. can i get pregnant?
havent been to a gyn in 3 years cause of the insurance. the dr i had was a student doctor (stonybrook) and had given me 3 different things it could've been. 1. cysts. 2. obesity (dont know what that has to do with it!) and 3. diabetes (i know i dont have that. i dont have any symptoms of that) the woman wasnt clear on anything. i had a test done (like sonogram but they go inside and check things out) and said i had a few tiny cysts. and then i lost my insurance. i just called a doctor near me and they said they'll accept payment plans once i establish myself as a new member there so i have to pay my first visit which would be around 120 bucks. eep. between that and wedding savings and bills. i dont know if i can do it.. i'll have to do something though. i'm just so worried i wont be able to get pregnant. thanks for your advice guys

Re: help.. can i get pregnant?
I dont think your heavy bleeding has anything to do with not being able to get pregnant, however, I will tell you this.
Your health is your health.....and I would honestly make going to visit your gyno an absolute priority, regardless of the cost.
Good luck.

Re: help.. can i get pregnant?
Go to Planned parenthood and see a REAL OB/GYN asap. They can help you on a scale based on income. Your health is worth more than anything. Have you looked into NY health insurance (like Childhealth Plus but for adults).
Did your old GYN say they would not help you without insurance? Some will still work with you on payments.
