Help: Cats whiskers are glue together by sap
In all my years of owning a live christmas tree this is a first. My cat was drinking out of the water stand from the christmas tree and got sap on her whiskers. She then must of brushed her face against the side of her bod and took out a clump of hair with the stickiness from the sap. Now she has glued together whiskers with a clump of hair at the end. I tried water to loosen the whiskers, but it didn't work. Does anyone have any ideas?

the only thing you can do is let him/her clean themselves or wash them in the tub with a mild soap.

Re: Help: Cats whiskers are glue together by sap
Found this in an online search, hope it helps!!
Maybe you could skip the hair dryer (it scares my cats) and just warm the PB in the microwave for a few seconds?
How To Remove Sap From Hair (including pet hair and paws)
Hair is one of the hardest things to remove tree sap from, but the task can be made somewhat easier if the sap is still soft. Short of getting yourself a new haircut, try the following:
Creamy peanut better (the oilier the better). Apply it liberally to the hair and soften it using a hair dryer on the lowest setting (careful to avoid burning the skin). Let the softened peanut butter sit for a few minutes before combing it through the hair with a large-toothed comb. Shampoo and rinse with warm water. If you can't stand peanut butter, substitute mayonnaise.

Okay did this and it worked. He did loose some whiskers but the clump of hair is gone and the whiskers (what he has left ) are separated.
Thanks a bunch.
