Help! DD is 9 months, I exclusively pump and my supply is dropping fast!

I exclusively pump, she's only ever had BM. I was getting about 21-24 ounces per day up until about 2 weeks ago, when my supply started falling to 16-18 ounces PER DAY.

My freezer stash is almost gone, I have maybe 80 ounces or so frozen, that's it.

She's drinking 24 ounces per day (plus a few ounces for cereal), so I'm VERY short now.

Help!!!

What can I do? Trying to up my water intake (I’m already a big water drinker). I bought Fenugreek at Whole Foods yesterday but haven’t started it yet.

Is there any hope for me?? I’m majorly stressed about it! Chat Icon

Are you possibly getting AF? I always found my flow to drop as soon as I was getting AF.

1st, I would stop using it in her cereal and maybe use water, I stopped using BM in my daugthers cereal around 7M.

2nd, As PP said... Lots of oatmeal for yourself and all the other remidies people list here haha

4, Warm showers on your boobies, NOT on your back if I remember correctly.

3rd and last option I guess, figure out how long this milk will get you with your frozen and your readjusted amount, and then talk to the Ped, Maybe you can drop 1 bottle right now, and if you can get to like 10 1/2 months or 11 months... Maybe you can start Cows milk then? Not really sure...

First, I know it's hard but try not to stress out too much. Are you getting enough sleep? Could you possibly be getting AF? All these things could affect your supply.

Increase your water intake, make sure you're eating enough. Start taking the fenugreek, (3-4 pills, 3x per day). You can try drinking Mothers Milk tea, eating oatmeal, drinking a dark beer, taking calcium supplements, and like a PP said, when you take a shower, face the warm water so it hits your chest, not your back.

Also, if you aren't already doing so, try massaging your breasts as you pump. Maybe try adding a few pumping sessions during the day if you have the time? When I felt my supply dip, I'd go on a nursing/pumping marathon for a few days and it would help increase my supply. I also had great results with the fenugreek.

Good luck

The same thing happened to me around the same time. I upped my water intake, starting eating oatmeal every morning & took fenugreek & I narrowly got by until 1 year.

Somehow I had so much stashed for DD, but w/ DS it was almost a day to day stash.

Hang in there; you can do it!!!
