help, dont know what to do...another sleeping question...
3rd night in a row DS (almost 15 mos) is screaming his head off not wanting to go to bed. Last night he fell asleep after 20 mins of CIO. Should I just let him stay up later? I really need him to go to bed at 7ish b/c I'm totally exhausted and he totally looked tired before. I just dont get it Hes fine, no new teeth are coming in, there was no change in schedule today, and he is 100% happy if I go up there and take him out of the crib. WWYD?
TIA!

It sounds so mean.... but I would just let him CIO.
You know he's tired, and you are tired... I would just let him self soothe.
Stay strong!

Did you just start CIO? This was us a few months ago. After (I think) a week, she stopped crying! We just left her....she now plays with the FP Aquarium and falls asleep. GL!

no, he always went to bed perfectly. I'd plop him in the crib and not a peep!
Hes becoming more and more persistant/demanding lately, temper tantrums, etc so I'm thinking this is part of it...fighting for what he wants type of thing ya know?

His changing and is realizing that he thinks he will have some control over going to bed or not.
I would let him CIO personally - you will want to get him sleeping easily again before your next DC is born!

I would let him CIO....20 minutes is actually not that bad for CIO... My son fought bed time terribly and the first night of CIO took 1.5 hours and each night it got better and better.

Glad he's asleep! I think it is a control thing at this age. They're starting to realize that they can control some things...and sleeping (or not) is one of them. Around that time is when Lily challenged sleeping, started to grab her toothbrush and try to do it herself, refused to let us feed her things...etc. It's actually a good sign!

Thank you, and thank you to everyone else !!
See, this is my gut feeling, like he is testing his boundries, like its a control thing. Hopefully this is what it is b/c I agree it is a good thing
