Help DS has chapped skin around his lips I've used everything...
Every winter season my son gets a red ring around his lips. He has a habit of licking Arron's his lips that causes this cracking. I've used Vaseline, a lip balm blistex I sometimes used lanolin. Can anyone recommend something that works almost instantly? I feel bad he gets stares in school and he's constantly using something to treat it but nothing is really getting rid of it. Any ideas, treatment?

My boys are the same way. DS1 used to be worse, but as he's getting older it's not so bad.
I glob aquaphor around his mouth then dab it off a bit before bed. I also use chapstick. Sometimes gets better, but never 100% till winter is over.

We use aquafor morning and night. I gave him a red EOS (that round chap stick thing) and he uses that during the day. He looks so much better. That red ring Looks awful

My DS has the red ring too from licking around his lips, I've been using A&D ointment before bed, it helps and is pretty clear in the morning but then halfway through the day it's back

Definitely aquaphor! It's all we use on our kids' chapped winter skin- cheeks, lips, hands. I just usually do it after they fall asleep at night so they aren't moving around so much and touching things.

My ds also gets red marks around his lips during the winter. I have been using A&D at night and it really has improved. If its really bad I will put some on in the morning but now I put it on just every night and his skin is clear.

My son gets the same exact thing from locking around his lips in the winter. Only thing that helps him is aquaphor. I put it on every morning and every night.

Thanks everyone. I ran out and got it and saw it improved in an hour which was amazing. Still there put looks 100 times better.

Aquaphor! I go in while she is sleeping and rub on her lips so I know it isn't getting licked or wiped off.  Such drama with this kid.

My son is the same way - the only thing that works for HIM (I've tried Aquaphor, coconut oil, & much, much more) is Burt's Bee lip balm with HONEY.

my son has this exact thing. I had a medicated ointment from mosquito bites that I put on it. It was the only thing that really cleared it up.
I am constantly yelling at all my kids to stop licking! lol

DD has horrible chapped lips, and it was so bad at one point. I put some otc hydrocortisone when she went to sleep one night, and it was totaly healed! After that I just use A&D.

Triple Cream. It's by the makers of Triple Paste, used for diaper rash.
I love Triple Cream. I use it on myself and my kids.
My son isn't a fan of cream on his face, so I put in around his chapped lips and skin when he's asleep. It's a thick white cream that blends in. One or two nights of triple cream while he sleeps seems to clear up the dry rash.
He like the EOS lip balm too. He puts that on during the day willingly.
