Gasho of Japan is in Hauppauge... that is a great Japanese Steak House
Other favorite restaurants:
Bella Vita, St James
Pasta Pasta, Pj Jeff
Momma Lombardis, Holbrook i think?

Three Village Inn, Stony Brook

If the party is not too large, the Sayville Inn has a separate building that they can do parties in.
We had our rehearsal dinner there and it was AWESOME!
