Help! Gingerale and Crackers aren't working..any tips?
Hello ladies, I am experiencing nausea during the day and at night. I was drinking a ton of gingerale and eating crackers and i think I may have overdone it because now I tend to get a feeling of nausea when I think of them, or look at them.
Right now, I've been drinking decaf tea and having toast or bread.
Is there anything else that can stop nausea that you guys have used? My appetite has slightly diminished, I just dont want to eat toast for the next few weeks. Any suggestions? What have some of you eaten to curb your nausea?
Thank you everyone.

for me, anything salted worked, so mixed nuts were great. also really liked pepperidge farm cinnamon bread, toasted or untoasted.

Crackers, Toast and Gingerale worked for me in the beggining but now I feel sick thinking of them too.. I really haven't found anything that works.. I just sip water. I also have been eating some dry cereal (mostly cheerios) in the morning before getting out of bed.
I am sorry I am not help - I am in the same boat

Saltines, Bagels and Fruit. Juicy/sweet fruits like watermelon have been working really well for me lately!

For the couple of months that I felt really nauseous, I started getting buttered rolls from 7-11 or a plain bagel with cream cheese every single morning. Same thing happened to me with the saltines... after a while, I felt like I would gag when I thought about them.

Salt was what helped me. A bag of potato chips always worked.

Re: Help! Gingerale and Crackers aren't working..any tips?
Nothing "normal" has ever worked for me. Pregnancy hits me hard (doesn't matter boy or girl, that much I know now!).
I'm a teacher, so I couldn't afford to be running to the bathroom every morning. My OB gave me a prescription for Zofran. It's a very low dose, only 2 mg a day, but it works like a charm! I just have to make sure I take it an hour before I get up, so I keep it at my bedside and take it when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
No need to suffer!! Ask your doc about it!

For me each day was different. What worked one day didn't another. Most days gingerale and animal crackers helped at least a bit. I also swear by sucking candies and lolipops.
I would eat something small every few hours. It helps to control the morning sickness a bit.
Mint, Ginger and citrus are all natural remedies to ease nausea.

You poor thing! The same thing happened to me.. after about 2 weeks of crackers and gingerale.. they made me want to throw up too! I think you have to try anything and everything. I tried everything everyone recommended on here and unfortunately most of it didn't work.. Lemon made me sick to my stomach.. I put a Prego Pop in my mouth and started immediately gagging.. For me it was pizza, bagels and patience.. It will get better, I promised. For me, it FINALLY got better around 15-16 weeks.. but I still have times of day where I'm sick to my stomach!

Try peanut butter on toast or crackers. Sour foods helped me too. Water with lemon, Sour Patch Kids, yogurt etc.
My OB wasn't too concerned with my diet just as long as I was getting calories in me.
And never let your stomach go empty. Little amounts, all day long!

Re: Help! Gingerale and Crackers aren't working..any tips?
The only thing that really worked for me was croissants, and sometimes bagesls. Some days i would eat 4 of them because it was the only thing I could eat! I also had ginger tea every morning which helped ease the M/S a little bit. Saltines just never worked for me.

Re: Help! Gingerale and Crackers aren't working..any tips?
I ate a ton of Pretzels (both hard and soft) b/c crackers were too dry in my mouth and made me feel worse. Also i had a lot of fruit and cheddar cheese. If the ginger ale turns you off as well, try seltzer (reg or flavored).
Good Luck and Feel Better!!

Try something sour...sour patch kids and lemon in my water really helped me. For meals, I ate baked potatoes mashed potatoes, and pasta with butter and parm cheese a lot because they were the only things (other than toast) that I could eat without feeling nauseous. Hope you're feeling better soon!
