help, he wants to crawl on the concrete.
we have a small yard and a few years ago we poured concrete down on 1/2 of it where we have a table. bbq, etc. and the other 1/2 we plant veggies. we took ds out there and all he wants to do is crawl on the concrete.
i put down blankets and even those foam pieces but it's not enough to cover the area.
any suggestions?
thanks!

Either knee pads or the large foam pieces work. I got mine at Sams club and it comes in a pack of 4. I rented a beach house last summer that had a beat up deck and a little one that couldnt walk yet. They definitely saved my life and his little knees.

I say let him crawl too...if he hurts him, he won't do it!

That's what I was going to say, too. They'll figure out what they do and don't want to put up with. The worst thing that will happen is his knees will get scraped up a bit. Kids heal fast, so it will only be bruised for a short while. That's worst-case. Let him explore...

Yup, just let him crawl. I had to try yesterday too, on my SIL's concrete patio. We tried to keep her on the big blanket but she wasn't interested. She did fine, I just watched extra-carefully to make sure she didn't slam her head down, which she didn't.
She crawl on our hardwood at home like a pro, so I wasn't too worried.

He will learn fast that crawling isn't fun on concrete. I had DS try to crawl on gravel last year. He did it a few times and that was it.
