Help, I am having a problem with mortgage brokers....
Let me explain. In august, we started looking for a house, I like to get things done early so I called Chase for a preapproval. Fast forward to October, still never recieved it. So, we found a house, and I went to Wells Fargo for one. The guy said since we made so much more this year than last, it might be a problem, because they combine the 2 years, and last year was so little that it might be a problem, but he would talk to the underwriter and call us the next day. Its been a week, I've been calling, my real estate agent has been and he hasn't called back. Now, fine if your not going to give us a mortgage, just please tell us. We just want an answer now. Are banks not giving mortgages to anyone? We have over 20%, and our credit score is in the 800's....Anyone know what else to do? Anyone have any reccomendations or have been in a similar situation? Thank you!!!

If the bank hasn't gotten back to you in a week, I'd try going to another bank.
We went through HSBC and our application was processed the same day and we were approved days later and the mortgage banker was in contact with us everyday giving us updates on everything and when to expect the paperwork in the mail.
You can also try Citibank as another ban option. Or any of the credit unions.

I refinanced last year and it took a really long time. At first I tried to do it with countrywide, only because my sister in law worked for them. they sat on it for 5 months, before we went to a broker. then that took a good 4 months as well. i know a few of my dh's friends have been turned down for mortgages and they have A1 credit. Maybe it was because it was a refinance or a second mortgage I am not sure. It is just a bad time.....I wish you luck and hope you get it soon!

Our mortgage broker is great. He is also a lawyer as well, so he sat down and explained EVERYTHING to us (and we are not even using him as the lawyer, we are using a friend). If you would like his info, FM me
