HELP, I found a kitten

I found a beautiful kitten outside my home on Wednesday & it doesn't seem to have a mother. I have been giving her food, but it wont let me catch her to bring it to a vet. Is it bad that I'm feeding her? I have to throw chicken & cheese at her cause she won't come close enough for a bowl.

Any advice would be great. I don't think she's much older than maybe 8 weeks or so (what do I know though LOL)

I live in NC and we have foxes, eagles, etc...so I'm worried for it.

I would go to your local shelter, animal / cat rescue, or vet office and obtain (sometimes you can rent or borrow) a trap. These traps are safe and effective - you can put food in one end, when the cat walks in, it closes a door on the other side. Then, you can bring it to a Vet. We found that covering the trap with a towel to conceal it helped in trapping a cat we had to get fixed that lives in our yard. The best thing you can do is get the cat fixed, have the vet give it an exam to make sure he/she is healthy and then they can give any shots it may need. Then, if it is that young and you have it, you can work with it to help get he/she used to people... then maybe the cat won't be so scared and you can keep him/her as a pet! My parents did that with two cats.

Oh, I never thought to ask for a trap. Maybe that would work! I definidetly would want her fixed! If only others weren't so caring for animals

I am going away soon, so I can't care for it when I'm gone.
