HELP- I have a bald spot!
Today I got JHS which came out awesome btw and had nothing to do with the bald spot. Anyway when they were combing thru there was a very noticable bald spot with hair starting to grow in about an inch or so. 4 months ago when I got a haircut my hairdresser said something about it too.I didn't think anything of it till today when they were working on my hair. So when I got home I took a look and its a pretty significant spot- its not smooth scalp is just little 1 inch hairs- like it was shaved. I have really thick hair and it was always hidden and I ve never really noticed it. What is this from? I dont remember any hair falling out except when I was post partum but my son is 3 Do you think its from that? f it is from that shouldn't it be longer?
Has this happened to anyone- who should I see Dr wise??

I think you can lose patches of hair from something like ringworm (which I think is a fungus)

Could be a small patch lost just due to whatever. It's called Alopecia Areata. This happened to me once. It went away with cortisone cream and the hair grew back. I would see a dermatologist.

my mom just started having somrthing very similar. not to scare you but my mom has to go to the derma. dr. for it. i would get it looked into. good luck and keep us updated

I have Alopecia Areata as well. I had a huge bald spot on the back of my head that went unnoticed until I got it dyed. I also have very thick hair and would have never known if they didn't find it. I went to the derm and they gave me shots and it grew back.
