HELP! I need a new hairstyle.

I think my hair has seen better days. I haven't done a significant styling in a very long time. The scrunchie pony tail look is getting old and is not terribly professional. I also think it might give me the impetus to get a new wardrobe.

I have had butch short hair dyed red. I have had long hair highlighted. I will more than likely continue to highlight, but I need something that requires little if any styling in the morning. Maybe a little product and that's about it.

My face is oblong and I think something between my chin and my shoulders might do it. There is a natural wave/curl to it.

I welcome suggestions. I am too lazy to surf the net.

There is no prize for the winning style. I am simply relying on the kindness of strangers.

I remember being in a similar place after getting married...I went to Christine at Hairsay with no idea and I've been going back since..she's cut my hair differently every time, makes it easy to style (I would have it no other way) and explains it, too...

right now, I'm wearing it with a sort of sweepy bang and flips on the side (if that makes sense) and it's just under my ears in length..it's given me a lot more body than when I wear it straight and long...hth

What is your hair texture? If it is straight, you can get one of those blunt shoulder cuts a la Gweneth Paltrow.

If it is wavy, you can get a side bang, layers and a new color.

I have no idea about super curly hair.

I think it would be great if you splurge on a really nice salon visit...like Bumble & Bumble or even Fredrick Fekkai--just to get the style going an then you can go to someone local to keep it up. I live in Brooklyn, but I am sure you can get tons of opinions from the girls on here about higher end LI salons. Teacher/Mommy/Superstars need the works sometimes.

A good haircut does wonders for the ol' self-esteem. I am due for my first one since January on Sept. 13. I look like a freakin' hippie.

I will look for images for you tomorrow when I am not so beaten and have a few moments where I don't feel like passing out.

I am also dying for a good facial, but I can't afford it right now. I think I will schedule that for October.

I do second the bang and layers look for wavy hair, as that's what I have and it's working in terms of the ease and style dept. Also, a new haircut can make you feel good..I agree with that one, too! Have fun!

My friend just did the reverse bob kind of thing and she says it is so easy. There seem to be many versions of it and even though some people say it is last year, I see it everywhere (please don't say that is because I am in Suffolk!).

I like your hair red the best, I think.
