Help- is this a bad sign?

I think I need some reassuring ladies.
I had an appt with Dr. B today for a sonogram and Estrogen levels. I have been stimming for exactly one week today. He did the exam and said he saw 8 follies on my right and 4 or 5 on my left but all of them were under 10. He didn't seem disappointed, just matter of fact. He wants to see me back on Friday. Originally on my calendar it said my probable ER would be this Saturday. How likely would that still be? Can the follies really 'sprout' that much in 5 days? Do most of you start out slow and then blossom? I am not sure what I expected from todays visit but I left there feeling a little down. Any advice, stories would be much appreciated.

I've had follies grow over 3mm in a day, so it can happen!! Hang in there!!
I believe normal is 2mm/day so add 8mm to your 10ish and you'll be in good shape.

I've never done IVF before but reading other girls experiences with IVF it sounds to me like your appointment went well...so dont feel down.
Also keep in mind that follicles grow anywhere from 1-2 mm a day....so by Saturday you very well may be good to go.

My RE always joked about my follies and how they were lazy starters but always end with a bang. I believe I stimmed for 14 days and it worked out just fine

I stimmed for like 14 days and coasted for 2, so you're just fine...don't worry. You're only been stimming one week! And he's awesome, he counts every one of those follies...just keep trucking along! You'll be fine...and yes, you could still have ET on Saturday, but just listen to the man, he's a genius!

I think you are exactly on target for one wk of stimming. Its not a fast process, so just be patient. And you wouldn't want it fast because that would be bad for the eggs. Most people stim between 10-14 days. You will see a huge increase on your next visit. And once they are over 10 it will go very very fast. What you want to see right now is that you have a descent # of follicles, which you do. So, that is great. Good luck.

You are totally on track! (I just got home from Dr. B's too!). They should grow about 2mm a day.

You're totally on track. I was a slow stimmer too. But you've only been stimming for a week, so hang in there! The calendar is just an guesstimate, so try not to focus too much on what your calendar says.
