Help me buy a fake engagement ring that doesn't look too cheap

I am going on a beach vacation and don't want to take my engagement ring. I will have couple of formal dinners where I will be wearing formal dresses. My wedding band is plain and I feel not dressed up enough when I don't wear my e ring at formal events. I plan to wear the fake ring on my future vacations out of country when I go to fancy restaurants or formal events. Any advice on what I should look for..cz or diamonique and where to buy? Thanks.

I would definitely look at Diamonique on QVC you seriously cannot tell the difference.

I have never purchased anything from qvc before but read some where that they have life time warranty on their pieces. I am going to look into it. Thx.

I absolutely agree with QVC. I purchased a fake set to wear on vacation and I get more compliments on that set vs. my real set. Also, my diamond earrings are from there and yep, absolutely believable.

also agree with checking out QVC- I purchased a fake set for the beach 2 years ago, and nobody can tell the difference.

Also, overstock.com has a bunch of nice ones as well

Never understood wearing a fake one that looks real. On beach vacations if I'm going to be in the water I leave the rings in the safe in the hotel. Brought me e-ring and wedding band with diamonds to Hawaii, Aruba, Italy, and pretty much any place I've traveled.

Reasons why I want to buy a fake ring -

1. I don't ever want to lose my ring for sentimental reasons.
Insurance will reimburse but I can not buy the same ring. I am a sentimental fool.

2. I would never put the third most expensive item I own in a hotel safe even at upscale hotels.

3. When I am a tourist walking on the streets in the caribbean or Mexico, I don't want to be a target for robbery because of the sparkly thing I am wearing. Few days ago someone on a travel forum posted that their friend got mugged in the bahamas while walking from one tourist location to another tourist location. So these things do happen. I have worn my ring everywhere when I travel in the US including Hawaii but don't feel comfortable when I go out of the country.

4. I am grown woman and wish I didn't care about not wearing my e ring when I am wearing a formal gown but I do. I am more comfortable with my body now than I was 20 years ago but when it comes to not wearing my e ring makes me feel like I am not dressed well enough.

5. I wish I don't worry about the what ifs but I do. I can't change my personality. I am a worrier.

So for these reasons, I would like to buy a fake ring whIch I plan to wear when I need to dress to the nines when I am traveling overseas.

Thanks to everyone for recommending QVC. I found a ring that I liked on qvc but its on wait list. I am going to call and find out if I can get an estimated date when it will become available. Hopefully I can get it before I leave for my vacation.

Gotcha. Makes sense. I meant more why not just bring it at all or just have the wedding band. You answered that. There are times I felt like my ring would stick out in a situation like walkmh I'm the city on a quiter block or something, but I turn my ring around.
I guess like others said try qvc.

Just a thought. A fake ring would ALSO make you a target. THEY don't know its fake.

IMHO save your money and don't buy a fake E ring. If you are wearing your wedding band that is more than enough.

I was recently away for work in California. I went t the mall and went to get both my rings cleaned. Both bands had loose stones. I put them in the hotel safe deposit box and bought a $30 ring at Sears. The only reason I did so is because I had nothing and didn't want to feel un married. But I bought SOMETHING that worked for me.

I say save the money and don't wear a fake E-ring at all.

I have thought of this as well and agree. I don't plan to wear it everywhere the entire time I am on vacation. In my week long upcoming vacation I plan to wear it twice, each time for about 4 hrs when I am indoors.

Stop justifying it to these women - you do what you want and get a fake set and wear it if it makes YOU comfortable Chat Icon

Try QVC or even Overstock for nice CZ rings.
