help me decide! - Double stroller
Hoping some of you have a similar experience. we have baby on the way due in a few weeks, DS 1 will be 19 months old.
I'm looking at the side by side city mini because the newborn can use it and lay flat.
city mini double
or the city select (so pricey tho, not sure how long we will be using these strollers)
city select double
Maclaren techno Maclaren double
I have done searches, but I'm not sure the Maclaren lays flat, does anyone know?
We have to decide by this weekend , I don't know which to get!
Thanks!

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
FWIW (not quite there yet) but these were the ones we had narrowed it down to also. We decided on the City Mini. At 2.5, DS was way too tall for the City Select (he's average height if that helps). And while I LOVE my single Maclaren, I wanted something easier to push on long walks. I don't know if it reclines completely flat, but I believe it at least goes pretty far down.

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
My DD's will be 24 months apart. I just got the city mini double (heard a lot of great things) and i got the sit and stand (on sale last week at target for $100).
so far my DD hates the city mini and loves the sit and stand. we put the sit and stand together last night and she wanted to be pushed all over the house in it. she refuses to sit in the city mini:(
i loved the city select but at 24 months DD seems already too big for the seat. she is 50th percentile.
go to the store and bring DC and really test them all out. BBB in westbury had a good selection.
I love my maclaren single but this baby won't be able to go in it for a while

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
These aren't your choices, but I'm going between the Peg Perego Aria Double, Combi Twin Sport, and the new Chicco together. We are 99% sure we are going with the Chicco.
I thought the Citi Mini was a bit big, and you have to use the car seat adapter bar...I'd prefer the seat to just snap in...JMO. I've heard the City Select is outgrown quickly.
I went to BBB and tested them all out...it rreally helped with my decision. Good luck.
PS. My DS will be 19 m/o when DD is born too.

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
I have the maclaren twin techno and have absolutely no complaints about it. It reclines to almost completely flat and also allows them to sit up straight (which is usually how I have it). DC seem comfortable in it. I also really like the latch because it is nearly impossible for little kids to figure out how to undo.

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
I have the city select..my DD is 2.5 and my DS is 4 mos....I love it, it is such a smooth ride, easy to push and maneuaver, basket holds a lot...my DD also was NEVER a child to sleep in teh stroller and she has taken more naps in teh city sleect then she ever did in my single peg or maclaren...she really loves it and my son seems to love it as well. Just food for thought, we are very happy with it.

My DS and will be 22 mos apart and I think this is what we will be doing as well.
A big thing for me is being able to use the infant car seat and it looks like the configuration of the City Select makes it difficult to maneuver with the car seat.
I tried them all out in the store and DS was very comfortable in the City Mini, and it was extremely lightweight, great sunshade, and almost full recline.
But he is also getting at that age where he wants to walk a lot also, so I think the Sit and Stand would be good for short trips in case he got tired.

I have my DS in teh seat closest to me, facing me and my DD is facing me as well...i like to be able to see them both, hahaha...and she can still see out.
ETA: I just saw your other post and I also use teh car seat adapter too, same configuration, with it at the highest position.

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
I have the Combi twin sport side by side. It does lay flat and can hold a carseat I just not sure which ones. I love it bc its soe light and very easy to fold up and push. I had the Graco Duo Glide tandem and it was a PITA !!!!! Go to BB and check out the strollers...

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
Just another suggestion...I'm thinking the bumbleride twin indie. MY DC will be 17 months apart. I like the fact that i can get the bassinet for that and snap in the infant car seat. My friend has it and I really like hers.

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
What do you want to use it for? I don't love the maclaren for walks (I have a single and the wheels are great for the mall but not great for sidewalks that are slightly uneven etc).
I would go with the city mini personally. More storage, better sun covers, more comfortable.

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
I love my Maclaren Twin Triumph. You can use it from birth, but the first time I put my youngest in it she was 2 months old. I was using my Snap 'n Go before that. The twin triumph steers just like my single triumph and fits in doorways with no problems. I love it!

Re: help me decide! - Double stroller
My DDs will be 23 months apart and I just ordered a Bumbleride Indie Twin. I like bigger, air tires and that it sits up more than even the 2010 city mini. I also like big sun shades. I don't mind the weight of a stroller and my jogger was my favorite single stroller. Try them out at BBB but also check video reviews on youtube.com. I found that so helpful!
