Help me...Our toilet will not flush.EDITED ..I ...YES THE WIFE FIXED IT
And if we try and flush it its going to over flow...I FREAKIN HATE THIS APARTMENT
Anyway...ADVICE PLEASE

Well we went to Home Depot bought a heavy duty plunger and a snake..As soon as we got home I told my DH to stay out of the way and .I with the help of my mom via telephone fixed the toilet...I plunged it...made sure the water was draining and then repeated that process several times.
I am pretty freakin proud of myself

a plunger is a must for every bathroom.. but a snake is more difficult and i am unsure how to use it, but home depot should have both.

Its a long thin coil that goes down the toilet into the pipes to clear deeper clogs.

I got this device and home depot. It's an 8 ft hose that you insert in the toilet and it clears the clog. I would shut the water valve off first, then use this tool to clear the clog. Turn the water valve back on and flush. It's should work. I forgot what the tool is called but it is a snake type of thing. It costs about $25.

Def keep a plunger in the house Kathleen. BBB has some nice covered ones. Glad to hear you were able to get the toilet to work. Don't worry I'm usually the one that has to do that kind of stuff too. DH is like DUH when it comes to stuff like that

DH was like I don't even know how one works...He bought this cheap piece of crap from 99 cent store that did nothing!
Thank God we went to HOme Depot
