HELP!! Mildew smell in my carpet!!!!
We had a leak from the skylight after a big rain and the carpet got wet. now there is a horrible mildew smell.
anyone know what I can use to rectify this besides getting new carpet. It's a small area.

baking soda!!! sprinkle it all over the rug and let sit for awhile. it will absorb the moisture and take out the smell, not mask it like a lot of the other products out there. I would also get a de-humidifier and run that in the room with the windows closed for awhile. It will heat the room, but that's ok. you don't want any moisture to come in from outside
