Help, my poor kitty is constipated....AGAIN.
I just don't know what else to do for my poor cat. He's needed three enemas in the last 5 months. The vet said that some cats are just prone to severe constipation. He gets high fiber food, benefiber and laxatives, and STILL every other month, this friggin cat has to go back to the vet for an enema. He's all backed up now, and it just sucks because nothign we've done has worked. Anyone else have a cat like this?

Have you tried cooking some green beans and feeding that to them? That may help. It's helped our dog!

YES!! Lucy has had this issue for years
Right now she does well on Wellness food and Lactulose. She was on Cisapride as well but I cut it back (and *knock on wood* she's been great). That said, it is inevitable that she needs a full "cleaning" once a year. I found that changing her diet (slowly) really helped. It's a more natural food - no grains (which will bind).
Give the Lactulose a try - I give her 2mil once a day... it started as twice a day and we went from there. You have to play with the dosage b/c it can give them diarrhea.
HTH...
