HELP! MY SON PEES ON HIMSELF WHEN HE DOESN"T GET HIS WAY!!
I really need some advice. My son who has been potty trained for months has from the start pees when he doesn't get his way, when he cries, when I yell at him etc. I don't know what to do b/c I KNOW he's doing it on purpose. I was told NOT to punish him but yesterday it happened 3 times and I am so tired of this.
the first time was when he hit me and I told him no FIRMLY
the second time was when i was washing dishes and not paying attention to him
and the last was when i was on the phone with my gf and he acts up whenever i am on the phone and i told him not to touch something.
It doesn't even matter my tone with him. If he doesn't get his way he will pee on himself. I just needed a good cry yesterday and after i put him to bed I layed in bed an cried for an hour and fell asleep. i feel like he is holding me hostage and i can't discipline my kid. for about 2 months now he's been a momma's boy. he's never been like this. it's i want mommy and hug mommy and very affectionate. he's 2.5 and for the last few years he loved his daddy "more" if you will and use to ask for him. now it's daddy get away from me i want mommy. it is also this transition thst has turned him into this weird, if I don't get my way, I will cry and pee on myself.
Please offer your advice, I am 8 months pregnant and I am afraid how bad this will get when the baby is here.

This is deff. a control issue. It's something he can control. I don't really have any advise just a . I would look into finding some literature on child behavior.
They will prob say not to have any reaction to his behavior. No crying, yelling, getting angry, nothing! Just continue as if he didn't do anything and clean up the mess like it's no big deal. I'm not sure how realistic that is to do but I have a feeling you'll get that kind of advise.

Reading that I was waiting to hear "I am pregnant" this is totally normal when a child knows that a baby is coming. You will find that he will go backwards in somethings. To be more baby like because "Mommy loves baby more" I think you are going to have the conversation of "You will alwys be my # 1 baby. (My son everynow & then will tell me "I'm your #1 baby") Also explain that you will have dates w/ him. You can tell him that Daddy will watch the baby so you & I can have a date. (even if it's going to the post office.) He just has to be reassured that he is not be replaced.
As for the peeing. What about telling him he's going to have to put on a pull up again if he keeps it up. For my son putting on a pull up after he was potty trained was a horrible thing. Then just tell him. Pee all you want what I say goes. If he realizes that it's not getting to you. He will stop.
LOts of hugs!!

Truthfully I would tell him if he continues to do this I will be forced to put a diaper on you. It will only get worse as the pregnancy progresses. Good Luck

unfortunately, my son wouldn't care if I put him back in pull-ups or diapers. he's not one of those kids who care. he would rather be in them then have to pee or poo on the toilet b/c it takes away from playtime.
i'm not even sure if he "realizes" a baby is coming. i tell him that mommy has a baby in her tummy and this and that but he doesn't seem to grasp the idea. we haven't taken out or purchased any baby items, or have gotten the room ready or anything so i don't understand.
I have actually had several talks with him on how he's mommy's baby and how I love him and nothing will change that. He doesn't seem to listen half the time and I'm not even sure if he understands. the problem here is that he doesn't communicate with me and his language skills isn't up to paar with other kids his age. i still talk to him in hopes that he "understands" and chooses not to look at me or make any gestures tha he understands.
I am just so at loss....
