Re: Help new job interview!!!!!
don't be scared. you are also interviewing them! make sure you are well prepared. go on sites such as monster.com and go to the "most asked questions at job interviews"....practice what your answer would be....most interviewers ask obvious questions and if you are prepared for them than you will rock the interview!

Re: Help new job interview!!!!!
prepare- practice answers- I always write out things about the company- I tend to remember them better if I write them out
then take the job description and look for things on my resume that I have done that are part of the description
pull you hair back out of your face- I always wear mine back- I look like a kid- but it stops you from touching it
smile, make eye contact, be friendly- it sounds stupid- but it some people get nervous and forget
I have gone on at least 7 (1 was with 4 people) interviews in the last few weeks- it gets easier the more you go on
I am up in the air about thank you letters these days - b/c the job I wound up getting- I thought the people who I met with wouldn't care about a thank you- and I was right- but I got an offer a week later
I didn't hear back from 3 companies I sent thank you letters too- the rest of the interviews were for sales jobs that I flat out told the person I wasn't intersted in - so I didn't send them one
one sales job I was interstead in- I didn't send a thank you- and they called me to come back- but I had already accepted an offer
go figure!

Re: Help new job interview!!!!!
I had my first one in 11 years last month! I was SO nervous! I got some great tips from my Uncle who was a VP in the corporate world before he retired.
EAT before you go!
look them right in the eye
give a firm handshake
smile
bring a portfolio and take notes!
ask a lot of Q's about the company
know your resume by heart
GOOD LUCK!

Re: Help new job interview!!!!!
if you notice your hands starting to sweat, place them palms up on each leg...they will dry and when you have to shake hands, they won't have that obvious "she's nervous" heat and wetness! since you'll still be nervous, they'll still be "warm" so you won't be giving them a cold handshake either.

Re: Help new job interview!!!!!
good luck!
don't let them intimdate you - you are obviously qualified and remember - they want you, so sell yourself - you are great and deserve this!!
also, speak slowly - don't rush!
if you get flustered or thrown, don't let it ruin everything - shake it off and refocus!!

Re: Help new job interview!!!!!
the eating before you go is so true
I had a 9am interview- I got up at 6am- and I was nervous- so I wasn't hungry- but I figured what the heck I will out of there by 11am
well I didn't get out till almost 1pm- and I was starving
I meet with 4 people! luckily I got the job so it worth it
