Hello, we are TTC and I have a wedding in May. Just in case I get preggo in December ( ) or even January.... how many sizes bigger should I order the dress "just in case" I do get preggo?

Re: Help Ordering Bridesmaid Dress
It's kind of hard to say - on the one hand, you don't know what will happen and you don't want to jinx yourself; on the other hand, you don't want to be without a dress. In February, I had to order a dress for a late July wedding - I ended up ordering it 2 sizes up. We were not pregnant until mid-day May and that dress just barely fit my then 20 week belly. You might be better off not going up too much, but maybe ordering a couple of yards of extra fabric - any good seamstress can use that to alter the dress to accommodate you - that way, if you're not yet pregnant or just very early, you won't have a dress that's way too big on you either. You also have no idea what your body's going to do - I had some belly at 13 weeks or so, but my belly only grew a teeny bit from 13 weeks to about 22 weeks and then started to really grow. Good luck!

Re: Help Ordering Bridesmaid Dress
I had a wedding at about 22 weeks that I had to order the dress for pre-pregs. First of all a lot of these dress places order the dress too big in the first place b/c they want to kill you on the alteration charges (jmo after being a bridesmaid multiple times). At 22 weeks with an obvious belly the dress that was ordered probably 2-3 sizes too big in the first place still fit me perfectly.
I did order extra fabric too though as a precaution b/c I was figuring I'd be better off just in case and the bride ended up giving it to the florist to wrap all of the flower bottoms instead of begging people for hem scraps (like most brides do- and not always successfully, lol).

Re: Help Ordering Bridesmaid Dress
maybe you can order a different style by the same designer and same color... I find that if you get something with an empire waist it will drape over a belly better than another fit... Or maybe you can wait till the last minute to order your dress. many places say you need a certain time frame but many can also accomodate last minute orders...
