Re: HELP! PILL ANXIETY!
Its not an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY to take the prenatals. Alot of women dont react well to them.
If your really freaked, as an alternative, you may just try to eat foods that are rich in the same vitamins.

Re: HELP! PILL ANXIETY!
I have a serious pill aversion. I hate taking ANYTHING. I will take the occasional tylenol if I have a really BAD headache or toothache or something.
I do now take a prenatal every day. At first I had to chop it up and take only a little bit at a time. my fear comes from the fact that I used to be very allergic to everything and I always worry about how something will effect me and if it will cause me to go into anaphylactic shock like so many things do. So after taking a tiny piece, I took another a few hours later. And then another (it helped if I took it with food too, cause then I didn't feel like I was going to get sick if something else was with the pill). So for the first few weeks I was taking maybe half the pill in bits and pieces and then slowly I added a little more and then a little more until I was up to a pill a day. Now I can just pop it and not worry about how I will react to it, but it took a good month of slowly easing into it to get to a full pill.

Re: HELP! PILL ANXIETY!
OMG- I have the same thing. I have a serious phobia of taking anything, afraid of how my body will react, even vitamins.
What I normally do if I NEED to take it, is start it on a weekend, where I can be home and bum around and "see " how I feel on it. Usually by Monday, I feel fine and am convinced I am ok taking it daily. It usually takes me about 2-3 weeks of taking something to be "ok" on it , and not feel anxious.
try to remember that. The anxiety level WILL decrease once you see that you take it and are still ok.
With each pill you take it will be easier and easier.
Next suggestion- take it right before you go to sleep. Maybe that will help.
I hope you can do it. I know it stinks, people look at me like Im nuts because I WONT take things like allergy medications etc. Im terrified for no real reason. All mental.

Re: HELP! PILL ANXIETY!
Try the Flintstones chewable ones. There is only 400 mcg of Folic Acid. I think some girls on here took 2 of them a day when pregnant for the extra folic acid.
