Help Please! Feeding related
We started solids about a month ago..ever since then Gavin hasen't really wanted his bottle. I dont know if he's not hungry for it or i'm feeding him to frequently. Here is his schedule. He wont take more then a 6oz bottle at one feeding. He's about 21 pounds and has lots of wet and poopie diapers but I still feel like he should eat more bottle.
8:30am BF (for 3 minutes, he won't go on longer)
10:30 2 tbl of oatmeal and 1/2 bin of fruit/veggie 11:00am 2oz bottle (he wont take more)
1:15 between a 4-6oz bottle 4:00 6oz bottle 6:30 2 tbl rice and 1/2 bin fruit/veggie 8:00pm BF to bed (4 minutes active sucking then comfort) 12:00am BF (quick) 5:15BF
He's going to be 6 months old and should be sleeping through the night but he can't roll from belly to back so that wakes him up and then he wants to BF to bed..and to top it off he's teething..
Can someone please help..he's not even getting 18 oz of formula!!!!

Re: Help Please! Feeding related
I found with DD when I started solids she would never finish a bottle, so I decreased the amount of solids I was giving her. The doctor said at this age the formula is more important for the vitamins and nutrients. She is 8 1/2 months old and I just started giving her solids again 3 times a day along with five 6oz bottles. She will usually drink all bottles except one. Your DS is not underweight so I wouldn't force the solids. What if you cut out the cereal and fruit at 10:30am...maybe at 11:00 he will drink more. He's probaby to full. You can try that or change the time of the bottle after the solids.

Re: Help Please! Feeding related
Oh thank you so much..the doctor wants him on solids 2x a day and then in a week (when he is actually 6 months) he wants him on 3x a day...how can I do that and get him to take his bottles. I've even tried to give him his bottles first. I was thinking he just dosent like the bottle anymore and wants more solids..what did your feeding schedule look like?
