Help please...no BM in two days
My DD is 4 mos and has not had a BM in over two days. She has lots of gas though. She began oatmeal cereal a few weeks ago and there wasn't a problem up until now. She has always been so regular. She does not seem in discomfort, no crying or fussiness at all. Her belly is not hard or swollen. I stopped the cereal and am trying to get her to drink a little more water in addition to BF, but since she is a BF baby, is not transitioning well to the bottle. I called the ped and the nurse said to do the q-tip thing, but that was a few hours ago and still nothing. Any suggestions? When should I go from concern to worry?

around that age my DS got on a 36 hour schedule, so it may be OK.
Have you tried using a rectal thermometer? They say that can stimulate the rectum.

My daughter once went six days without there being any issue. If she doesn't seem uncomfortable I wouldn't be worried.

I also had a NICU nurse tell me a Q-tip with some vaseline on it...never had to do it though.

You can also try giving her some pear juice. I started given my DS pear juice to help him with the constipation when he was also 4 months.
I would do, 1oz pear juice mixed with 2 oz of water.
