Help! PuppyDog ate a bunch of bones!
So, DH's parents took us out tonight to our favorite restaurant for birthday dinner. Did not eat a lot and DH and I prob brought home a good $40 worth of leftovers which we were looking forward to tomorrow! So - we left them out on the counter to cool and took a walk to go get a drink. We come home 1 hour later and she got into them!!! They were in a bag, wrapped up in one of the tins where you clamp down the edges - no idea how she got them and opened it up - really pizzed!
But, now I'm really upset and scared because she ate a bunch of duck that was on the bone and yes, the bones are gone. I am bugging over here and just read a bunch of stuff on the internet. I know I need to watch her over the next few days, I'm just so scared. Some people say go to vet, but I don't know what vet can do since she already ate them. I read some advice that said give bread and rice, overfeed for the next few days to try and cushion the sharp bones in her tummy. I'm just so upset and don't know what to do. If you have any advice, please share! Thanks!

Miki why don't you calll the 24 hour vet I have the # if you need it.
If she seams ok now im sure she's fine. Also I heard that a little peroxide will induce vomiting. NOT sure that is a great idea though.

I don't think vomiting would be good because if there are sharps pieces of bones, they could scratch her on the way up, right?

Personally, if she ate that many bones - I would take her to the vet immediately. Dogs hide it if they don't feel well and if one of those bones did something on the way to her stomach you may not know for a while.
I would be freaking out.....
I hope it all ends up okay...

I say take her to the vet and def call an emergency vet. I have a number to one if you want, you can always call and just ask what they think. Usually they will tell you over hte phone some helpful advice, general answers but still helpful.
I have no experience with this, but I too would be worried.

I don't think you should do this w/o the advice of the vet.

I was going to wait until the morning and call our vet right away. You don't think I should wait?

Good to know! Look other places. Maybe she didn't eat a lot. Maybe she hid them for later
