Help! So sick of my hair...what can I do with this mess?
I included a pic. Maybe it's b/c I just had a baby but I am SO sick of my hair. I just wear it up in a ponytail all the time, but it's such a rat's nest...I hate it. The truth is that I just look better with longer hair so I don't know what I can do with it, but I'm so ready for a change.
Everytime I consider Japanese Hair Straightening I get scared....what if it ruins my hair?? Can I do it since I highlight my hair?
Suggestions? TIA!

I would wait for a while before you decide to do anything with your hair, because when you're about 4 months PP, your hair will start to fall out! (I think it's around 4 months - I can't remember now).
And it'll fall out for a couple of months.

first- I love your hair
second- I don't really recommend JHS for you b/c people who seem to like it the best- have hair like mine- that does NOT curl from the root and when you have highlights they can't leave the lotion on as long- which also means it might not take as well
if I were you I would try that new Braizlian reconditioning- it only last 3 months
but I really love your hair and if my hair curled like that- I never would have gotten JHS

Give yourself a little time before you do anything drastic... do your research, and then get it done if you still want to.... After all, what ever you decide to do, it will grow back.
Your little one is adorable!!! You both look so happy.

I think you look amazing and would look great with short hair....
Cut a few inches and perhaps layer it some? Get a blow out while you're there and you'll feel like a new woman!

As for the JHS, I was just reading in one of my magazines about another treatment(sounds like it might be this brazilian straightening but they called it ISO maintamer). It says it lasts 6-9 months and is more gentle and fine for color treated hair. The article mentioned Simadi salon in NYC.
It also listed these sites:

Maybe you need some good products so you can manage your hair better.
I also think having a newborn your hair is hard to deal with and this hoottt weather.....
DON"T do the JAP!!!!!!!!!
Your hair wont ever be the same...
I would learn how to work with curly hair better and invest in a good flat iron!

A, I think you're just feeling disgusting right now.
don't do anything drastic.
wait until you've lost some of your baby weight (although you look fab) and are feeling a little better about yourself, so you will be thinking clearer and seeing yourself more favorable.
you have lovely hair, lovely skin, and a great shape.
take a bath, get a mani pedi, put on a cute dress and take a deep breath!

I'm with everyone in saying that you have gorgeous hair. I wouldn't do anything drastic. I would add some layers but keep it long enough so that you can still pull it back.

I am a big fan of JHS, but your hair has a great curl, I wouldn't do it!
I would be careful of the braziallian straightening also. It contains formaldehyde which I would stay far away from if you are breastfeeding.

You can give your hair to me!  Seriously, your hair is gorgeous! If you want something for nice, controlled curls I LOVE Tressame's flawless curls mousse. I'm not a mousse person, but this doesn't leave my hair crunchy. It helps control the frizz too.
P.S. Madison is so adorable! Congrats!!
