Help w/ food

i have been feeling sick for the past week. I haven't actually gotten sick, but feel nauseous everytime i think about eating. i have an adversion to food and I'm hungry all the time. What should i do? i have been off this entire week, but i'm really nervous about going back to work on the 4th. Any suggestions would be greatly appericated. I'm also nervous that I'm going to gain more weight then i should because all i can eat is carbs.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I could have written this myself...a few weeks ago. Don't worry about gaining too much from eating carbs. If that's all you can eat, then eat it. The things that I found helped me the most were to eat small snacks throughout the day. I was nauseous all the time, too. I'm now 15 weeks and am getting better with food, however, I cannot cook or go to the supermarket. Those two things make me feel so ill. After living on carbs for almost 6 weeks, I now cannot eat them at all! I find that salads and fresh fruits and veggies are all I want. Just eat what you can. Try applesauce, that helped a lot when I was nauseous. To make it worse, I had to do lunch duty when I feeling this way (I'm a teacher), and no one knew I was pregnant at that point, and I was making excuses to run out of the room every few minutes! Just hang in there, it DOES get better!Chat Icon

Re: Help w/ food

My solution to the exact same thing was to eat what ever appealed to me - even if it was McDonalds french fries or a jelly donut. Anything that appealed to me. I also made sure I drank a LOT of fluids and that helped fill me up.

This is basically what I did. I lived on mac and cheese for two weeks straight!

Same thing here!! I just ate what I could stomach-- and I drank and still drink a ton of water.

Re: Help w/ food

I was nauseus 24/7 for about 5 weeks. The only thing that helped me too was carbs, and like the others said, if it was french fries I ate them. You're nausea will be much worse if you let your stomach go empty.

I found that if I ate all throughout the day, small things and kept my tummy full, I was able to get through my days and nights.

Gatorade was my savor!! I lived on mac and cheese, french fries, cheese sandwiches, cereal-dry and with milk, mashed pototoes, hard cheeses and crackers.

Don't worry about your weight gain, I am absolutely convinced it's genetic anyways, your body does what it wants!!
