Help! Wakeful 3 month old at night...

I don't know what to do...

My 3 month DS is sticking to a great schedule during the day. He takes a short 45 min nap in the morning, a 1 - 2 hour nap mid day and then another short nap in the early evening. But at night...

He wakes up every 2-3 hours!! Sometimes every hour :( We had a great stretch of 5 - 6 hour sleep nights a couple of weeks ago. So we moved him out of the co-sleeper and into his crib. Now he won't sleep. We are trying to do the crib for the first stretch of sleep and then move him into the co-sleeper for the rest of the night, but that isn't working either. Any suggestions?

I am EBF, by the way...

ETA: He usually goes right back down after nursing or if I give him back his paci. He isn't "up" all night, he just won't stay asleep.

I think that is normal. DD is 11 months old and still gets a 2 am bottle - she eat less than 1 oz then but still gets up.

Is he swaddled? I mean, I know he's three months old, but maybe he still needs the security of a swaddle?
Also, if my 3 month old starts waking in the middle of the night, I try to get to him before he really cranks up, I put the pacifier in and lay my hand firmly on him for a few minutes and he drifts back into a deeper sleep. I did that for a couple of weeks and now I rarely have to even go in there, he'll stir and fall back to sleep on his own. I read about it on Dr. Sears' website and it seemed to really work for us.
The nights that it didn't work, I knew he was actually hungry and not just stirring.

He actually keeps breaking out of the swaddle, so we are using a sleep sack now...could also be part of the issue. I usually get to him before he gets worked up, give him the paci and rub his tummy...but lately he wants to get up and nurse.

He could be having a growth spurt, too. Try pressure on his belly and chest instead of rubbing his belly and see if it works. It's worth a try!

It's sounds pretty normal to me. DS was EBF and woke 2-3 times per night to eat until he was 6 months old. He didn't STTN until 7 months old.

DC could be going through a growth spurt. Chat Icon
