help! water shoes for WIDE feet?
I got DS a pair of water shoes that I thought were ok, regular width from Target but he came home from daycare with blisters yesterday
What do you do for water shoes if your kids have wide feet? DS is an 8w

One step ahead! I get the velcro strap and also the swim socks every year. I love them and they last all summer.

Re: help! water shoes for WIDE feet?
We use Crocs - I get the ones from Target. They are kind of awkward and not my favorite, but my DS has XW feet and I won't spend $40 on a pair of water shoes he will use sporadically throughout the summer.

we did this last year! they destroyed my son's feet. they peeled for weeks because of the water and rubbing.
i hate spending $$$ on water shoes (which is why i got the originals at Target) but he does wear them everyday at daycare so I guess I need to woMAN up and spend $$

Re: help! water shoes for WIDE feet?
Try any of the sandals that have the adjustable velcro straps - I did get a pair one year from the Bass outlet that weren't even wide, but because they were stretchy material and had velcro straps, they worked for him.
The shoes kill me. Even though I know I have to spend the $$ for the wider ones, we usually can only choose from 2 styles because they just don't carry the XW in many styles.

Re: help! water shoes for WIDE feet?
Stride Rite. They are worth the money if it means your DC is comfortable, even if they are only worn a few times (although water shoes get more use than you'd think bc of the beach, backyard, water parks, sprinkler on the lawn, etc)

Same here. I only buy dd stride rite shoes. Yes they are pricey but they fit the best and they don't hurt my dd feet.
