HELP!!! We're leaving home in 2 hrs for airport & Troy has a 101.1 temp!!**UPDATED and we're home...
He just got over a double ear infection, last dose of antibiotic was Wednesday. He's been good until last night, he wouldn't sleep more than 2 hrs. Did not have a fever, but this AM when he got up at 5:30 (earlier than normal) he felt warm, but went back to sleep. Woke again at 7:45, and I took his temp, it was 101.1, gave tylenol and all night he's been congested and snotty nosed.
We're flying to my dad's in south carolina today, Troy's ped's office is moving this weekend and closed today thru tues. There is a covering Dr, but the office is closed.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?????
Add in that anxiety issues started with me last night w/ all this b/c he didnt sleep wel, neither did I and I am MOST anxious about flying, b/c I am going ALONE with him for the 1st time!!!

UPDATE********************************
We called the covering Ped, said to come right in. PS I too his temp again at this point and it was 102! Gave him Motrin right away, gathered everything and went to the Ped (who is 2 blocks away).
He checks Troy out and said his 1 ear was still a little red the other was a little pink. His temp had gone down to 98.9 Being that we were on out way OOT, he gave us antibiotic, but said it could be something viral. We had the prescription filled and headed to the airport.
He did GREAT on the flights (we had a connection)! I did good too.
We're home, I've unpacked and done laundry only to have to repack b/c tomorrow DH, Troy and I are heading to Illinois to visit my mom!!

It's a quick flight right?
Did he get rechecked on the ear infection?
Do you have an urgent care center around you?
I'd be hesitant to fly, but I would probably do it.
I'd take a washcloth, motrin & tylenol on the flight with me. If he is complaining about his ears, warm water on the washcloth, put it behind his ears.
If he has a fever, cold washcloth on his forehead.

The flight is to Atlanta, so about 2 hrs (maybe less). He id not get a recheck. The nurse called us and said he should get check this next week, but they were moving and I said we'd be OOT and she said to have him check when we returned.
Not sure about an urgent care center, we just moved to Riverhead (from Queens) 2 mos ago and I am not sure what's around here. Any recommendations?
Thank you for the suggestions. I too am hesitant, but my dad bought the ticket and we're all looking forward to the trip. DH said I just need to realize I am going to have a $hitty day.

I'd be hesitant to fly too, but I think I would do it. Luckily, you are not leaving the country, so you will have medical care down by your fathers. Def. bring motrin on the plane with you, and also something for him to suck on (paci, bottle) for take off and landing.
I hope he feels better soon---how long are you staying at your dads for?

if its his ears the flight may make his ears REALLY hurt. I know when people have a cold and they fly their ears get soo painful
Good luck I hope he feels better and have a nice trip

Josh has flown with a fever, but the ears make me nervous.
I would have urgent care check his ears
