Help! What is the best way to naturally induce labor???
Any good techniques to naturally induce labor? I am 2 cm and having contractions every 5-6 minutes but are not strong. I am very, very ready to meet this baby!

I can't tell you how much Googling I did to find a way to go into labor
-Spicy food (gave me an excuse for chinese) -Sex -Walking -I did Wii Golf and went into labor the next morning with DD (probably just a coincidence though) -one website said acupuncture? -Rolling your pelvis around on one of those yoga balls

Stupid and TMI question...do you have to O for the sex to be effective? I'm assuming yes, to stimulate contractions?

I did everything I could: spicy foods, eggplant, walking (uphill), , pineapple, cleaning like crazy....and I was still 9 days late and had to be induced.

Re: Help! What is the best way to naturally induce labor???
nothing worked. I was 8 days late.
The night I FINALLY had contractions, I literally walked around Hecksher with my parents for over 2 hours and did squats up and down my basement stairs (as per shorty )

actually, it is the prostaglandins in semen as well as the 0rgasm which help. the 0rgasm releases oxytocin and both the oxytocin and the prostaglandins help to ripen the cervix and induce contractions,

Re: Help! What is the best way to naturally induce labor???
I used a yoga ball to sit on and then rotated on it. Supposedly helps open up your pelvis. I also did a lot of walking.

Sex doesn't work, sure you'll contract while you're into it but the uterus will evenutally calm down again. Never tried it me myself but nipple stimulation releases oxytocin.
Check this out: Nipple Stimulation

Acupuncture. I went specifically for that reason and my water broke on the table. I use Dr. Li in huntington, but he also has an office in Flushing and Smithtown. My insurance covered it too.
