help with cover letter for resume
i have never written one before, but i need to. i am supposed to include salary requirements in the letter. i finished my actual resume which does include my info (address etc) as well as an objective. so, what am i supposed to put in a cover letter? and where can i find a format for one? thanks! p.s. sorry, i've never even had to write a resume for any of the jobs i've held, so this is my first go at any of this.

Re: help with cover letter for resume
I would Google "cover letters" and you'll find all kinds of templates that can help you out.
It's usually just an introduction to who you are, how you found out about the job, and that you'd like to meet with them for an interview.
Good luck!!
Btw, this will prob be moved to the Career board...

Re: help with cover letter for resume
I'm in HR, so I look at tons of resumes and cover letters a day! Your cover letter should be sweet and to the point. Be sure to mention what job you're appyling for and a short paragraph showing why you're qualified for it (give examples). You can address your salary requirements at the bottom of the letter, including a note that they're negotiable (only if they are).
Good Luck!

your cover letter should tell something about you that your resume cannot. also, i have never given salary requirements and its never been a problem. i'd leave that out if i were you.
writing is a large party of my job, so if you want help FM me.

it specifically says to include salary requirements... i don't want it to sound cheesy, but i don't want to be faulted for not following directions either. i'm torn.
