Help with nail tips, gel, etc.
I am sooo out of the loop on this. I have a difficult time keeping my nails looking good and want a natural look - not like Jerseylicious, lol.
I like to garden, I do wear gloves, but your sometimes your hands get dirty anyway.
Can you recommend what would be good - I hear all the terms, gel, acrylic, etc. but I don't know what is good, but easy to maintain.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Help with nail tips, gel, etc.
I had my acrylic taken off over a year ago and "tried" to go natural. it was a disaster! I went for manicures each week and yet my nails did not grow, were thin and my hands looked like crap! I finally said to my nail girl that I wanted to try the gel manicure. Well, it lasted for 2 weeks then when she took it off, my nails were still thin and crappy looking. I was feeling like I cant win.
She told me that my nails were really damaged, not that I didnt know that, from all the years of acrylic on them. She suggested that I go with silk wraps. She didnt put any tips on, just wrapped my own nails, I want to keep the nails short.
So far, I LOVE them. my nails look nice, the color stays for 2 weeks in between fills.
It worked for me because I know that my nails will never be strong (not that they ever were) and this is the only way for them to look nice.
I do remember reading some complaints about the Gel and shellac manicures on the board. Maybe some of those ladies can chime in.

Thanks Lisa, your nails always looked great, thanks for responding!
I wasn't sure about the whole shellac/gel thing, I really out of the loop, forgive the ignorance, do you have "permanent french" - and does that effect the silk wrap with no tip, if you know. THanks again.

Re: Help with nail tips, gel, etc.
I used to have the permanent French but that was acrylic. i dont think they can do that with silk because the permanent french was really 2 different colored powders that they used.
