Help with skirts to go with a holiday outfit.
I was so disappointed today. I had my heart set on this beautiful red dress for Christmas........found it finally at the Bridgehampton store and went all the way out there today, tried it on Emily, and it just didn't fit her right because she is so thin. We tried 3 sizes. My sister got it for her DD because she filled it out better, but I feel like I am back to the drawing board with no holiday outfit.
I did end up getting a pants outfit for Emily. My sister swears that it is OK not to dress Em in a dress for the holiday photos. I feel like Em is such a girly girl, she loves dresses, and it's the only time of the year that she wears a fancier dress.
So I love the pants, cardigan, they look GREAT on her, but I am still going to look for a skirt to go with the look.
I don't like the tartan plaid skirt from the gap, or the plaid one at the children's place either this year.....
Anyone wanna help me find something?
This is the cardigan, with an off-white turtleneck underneath it:

I'm no help because I love the Tartan plaid, I'm thinking about getting the dress.
What about just looking for a black velvet type skirt? Maybe Target would have something like that.

Re: Help with skirts to go with a holiday outfit.
I bought that same sweater for DD in the hopes of finding a skirt too. I did end up buying the black Mod dress for her for Christmas though. I feel like I need a back up though . I would wait a couple of more weeks because new stuff is going to come out, especially at the gap. I think they have usually have 3 holiday lines that come out each year. I did buy that tartan skirt they showed with it but it is to full on DD and looks weird on her.
